Kathy Schiano, Principal Cellist with the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Kansas, and her Master of Music degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook where she studied under Bernard Greenhouse.

She has played with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, she is a cello instructor at Trinity College and Miss Porter’s School, and has taught privately for over 25 years. She has over 30 years experience as a freelance musician and has played in backup orchestras for stars such as: Bob Hope, Liberace, Bill Cosby, Sammy Davis Jr., Englebert Humperdinck, and Andrea Bocelli.
