An Inaugural Concert of the 2026 Summer Music Festival. Ina Jun – piano, Brunilda Myftaraj – violin, Jonathan Kane – viola, Zachary Sears, cello. Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G minor stands at the birth of an entirely new chamber‑music genre. Composed in 1876, Fauré’s Violin Sonata in A major marked his arrival as a mature voice in French chamber music.
Mozart’s pioneering G‑minor Piano Quartet—born from a fraught commission—set the model for future masters. Fauré’s luminous A‑major Violin Sonata reveals his mature voice: lyrical, refined, and quietly daring.
Brunilda Myftaraj, violin; Ina June, piano; Jonathan Kane, viola; Camden Archambeau, cello.
Jonathan Kane’s “Convergence”, Brahms’s Clarinet Quintet, and Ravel’s String Quartet highlight innovation, lyricism, and refinement. Performed by Charter Oak String Quartet with clarinetist Jonathan Towney, this program unites modern exploration, autumnal warmth, and French brilliance in chamber music’s finest traditions.
YOUNG DIVISION SHOWCASE, INSTITUTE ENSEMBLE: Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Mass No. 2 in G major, by Franz Schubert.
