The concert featured J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos Nos. 3 and 5, from the famous set of six concertos that are gems of the Baroque era, and Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 in A Major. In a rare treat, maestro Adrian Sylveen conducts and performs as violin soloist.

Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, written for strings and harpsichord, begins with one of Bach’s most recognizable and buoyant melodies, while Brandenburg No. 5 is written for strings with the addition of a popular chamber music ensemble of the time, a trio consisting of violin, flute and harpsichord.
