The focus of the orchestral program of the festival will be on music by Antonio Vivaldi. In particular we will study and perform concertos from the collection of the 12 compositions op. 3 titled “L’estro armonico” This title translates as “Harmonic Inspiration” and the set was “perhaps the most influential collection of instrumental music to appear during the whole of the eighteenth century” (Michael Talbot). We are delighted to have again this year an international group of most talented faculty and students to join us in the exploration of this exceptional music. The goal is to perform the the concerti in the all familiar festival format, and we invite you, our audience to join us in this joyful celebration of music and life.
