Jonathan Kane is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee. He has been playing with the Connecticut Virtuosi since 2017, and teaching at the Virtuosi Summer Music Institute since 2013. He also now plays with the Charter Oak String Quartet along with Adrian Sylveen, Sandro Ladu, and Zachary Sears.

In addition to playing the viola, he also composes and arranges music. Several of his works have been premiered by the Virtuosi Orchestra, including the original works Shesh (2017) for large chamber orchestra, and Stays the Year One Moment (2020) for marimba and strings.
