THE GREVE OPERA ACADEMY
& MUSIC FESTIVAL
June 11 – July 7, 2018
The 2018 Edition of the festival will feature productions of Aida and Le Nozze di Figaro as well as other concerts and recitals in multiple locations throughout the Chianti region and Tuscany. Opera performances will take place in Greve in Chianti and San Gimignano, while concerts will take place in Greve in Chianti, Florence and elsewhere.
Recent students have come from the US, Italy, Canada, China, Austria, Poland, Cypress and Australia. Many have gone on to perform with Connecticut Lyric Opera and the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra back in the US in main-stage productions/performances. In addition to the career-building instruction, role preparation and invaluable performance opportunities, life-long friendships have been forged in the idyllic Tuscan surroundings.
Instrumental Festival Program focuses on private coaching, master classes, solo works, and chamber music performances with well-known solo performing artists from Europe and the United States. Qualified students will have the opportunity to experience the work in a professional opera orchestra for festival performances of the operas.
Greve Opera Academy and Music Festival is a collaborative effort between the American performing organizations Connecticut Lyric Opera and Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and the municipality of Greve in Chianti in Tuscany, Italy.
