The winner of the first prize at the 2023 UK international “Golden Talent” competition, the first prize at the 2018 “New 8th Sound” competition in Armenia, and the Armenian National Opera and Ballet Theater soloist, soprano Gayane Ghambaryan began her singing journey at Romanos Melikyan Music College in 2004.

In 2007, she enrolled at the Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan , where she studied with professor Larisa Mkrtchyan, graduating with a master’s degree in 2013. She also studied with renowned Armenian bass Barseg Tumanyan. In 2017, she participated in a masterclass with Barbara Frittoli. She continues to coach with Hasmik Papian. During her time at the Conservatory’s Opera Studio, Gayane presented concerts and performed roles in operas by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Puccini, and Tigranyan. Since then, she has been a soloist with the Armenian Ancient Music State Ensemble “Tagharan,” directed by Sedrak Yerkanyan. She gave her first recital with “Tagharan” in 2019, performing Baroque and Bel Canto repertoire. Gayane has been a resident soloist at “Tagharan” since 2020, giving her second recital with the ensemble in 2021. Gayane participated in the Nicola Martinucci International Voice Competition in Lucca, Italy, and in September 2020, she sang in an online masterclass with James Brian Platt, organized by the National Student Opera Society in the UK. In December 2022, she appeared as Violetta Valery in Verdi’s “La Traviata” at the Armenian National Opera and Ballet Theater.
