Born in Dabrowa Bialostocka, Poland, Karolina Wojteczko (Mezzo-Soprano) has graduated from Western Connecticut State University with BM in Vocal Performance. She is a part of voice faculty as well as member of St. Thomas Moore Yale Chapel Choir and Naugatuck Valley College Choir. Karolina is a music teacher at St. Mary-St.Michael’s Catholic School in Derby CT. Mrs. Wojteczko studies with voice teacher Dr. Margaret Astrup.
For the past few years she has performed as a guest artist in New York City for Kosciuszko Foundation Pro Art League. In 2008 and 2010 she received a 1st place at NATS. Karolina was selected for numerous scholarships like Opera Patron Scholarship or Schoolmasters Special Scholarship to name few. She was a recipient of the LaCamera Guida at the MONC 2011 New England Regional Auditions in CT. Recently she has received an honorable mention in Amici Vocal Competition.
Previous Opera performances included “The Pirates of Penzance” and “Trial by Jury” by W. S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. Also, she performed as Zita in “Gianni Schicchi”, and Abbess in “Suor Angelica” by Puccini, as Cherubino in “Le Nozze Di Figaro” and Third Lady in “The Magic Flute” by Mozart. Karolina performed as the Mother in “Amahl and the Night Visitors” by Menotti and as Vicky in “The Full Monty” by David Yazbek. In summer of 2012 Mrs. Wojteczko was seen as Alicia in production of “Lucia di Lammermoor” and in 2013 as Giovanna in “Rigoletto” both with the Opera Theater of Connecticut. Recently she has performed “Gloria” by F. Poulenc, “Requiem” by W.E. Mozart and “Messiah” by G.F. Handel.
