Miguel Ángel Vásquez, an Afro-latino Baritone lionized for his “Ardent baritone and strong dramatic presence” (operawire) and “Golden Voice” (Syracuse.com the post standards).As a cross-over artist and graduate of The Hartt school of music, he has performed internationally (Europe), regionally and in NYC singing with the NY Philharmonic at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City Opera’s world premiere of “Stonewall the Opera” at Jazz at Lincoln Center, as well as the inaugural production of “Watch Night” at the new Perelman PAC at the World Trade Center this season. Other notable venues include; Carnegie Hall, Off-Broadway, 54 Below, and more.

A highlight includes singing the role of Garvey Preacher in the grammy nominated recording and production of Anthony Davis’s “X; The Life and time of Malcolm X” with BMOP and Odyssey Opera. A few favorite Roles include Figaro in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Fígaro”, Alfonso in “La Favorita”, Papageno in “Die Zauberflöte”, Enrico in “Lucia di Lammermoor” and the men in “Don Giovanni”. In Theater roles include Jake in “Side Show”, Javert in “Les Miserables”, Beast in “Beauty and the Beast”, Cinderellas Prince/ Wolf ” Into the Woods”, and Coalhouse in “Ragtime”.

Orchestral works include Bass soloist in Beethoven 9th, Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, Handels’ Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, and Faure’s Requiem.
