Shaunna Lucas, soprano, most recently performed selections from the roles of the Princess and the Fire with Salt Marsh Opera in promotion of their Outreach opera, The Child and The Spells (L’enfant et les Sortilèges). Prior to that she performed in Opera Connecticut’s American Opera Idol competition as a finalist (2023). She was awarded first place in the MAP International Music Competition and a Semifinalist in the Music International Grand Prix competition (2022). She has performed as a featured artist with organizations such as Boston Singers Resource and The American Art Song Preservation Society (NYC). Shaunna’s favorite roles include Donna Elvira from Don Giovanni (Greater Worcester Opera), Mimi from La Boheme (University of Southern Maine workshop production), Rosalinda from Die Fledermaus and Antonia from The Tales of Hoffman (Northwestern University workshop production) and a virtual production of Anne Boleyn’s movement from Libby Larsen’s, Try Me, Good King (Opera on Tap Maine).

Shaunna is currently preparing the role of Violetta in La Traviata to perform at her Master’s recital in partial fulfillment of an MM in Vocal Pedagogy at the University of Southern Maine (2024). Prior to that, she studied as an undergraduate at the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music as a Vocal Performance Major. Shaunna opened her own voice studio in 2020 and has been working as a private voice teacher since. A native of upstate New York, she now resides with her family in West Hartford, CT.
