Season Opening: Gershwin, Tracz, Mozart

An exceptional Chinese young pianist from the Juilliard School of Music, Weiran Lydia Meng will perform Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. Also in the program is the World premiere of XXI Music for string orchestra by a young Polish composer from Gdańsk Music Academy, Sandra Tracz, and Mozart's Symphony No. 29 i A-Major.

“Ten Concert Carols” by the XIX-century Polish composer Władysław Żeleński, and a world premiere of a new commission by the Connecticut Virtuosi “A Nocturn for Violin and String Orchestra” by American Italian composer (and a great friend of the Ensemble) Ernesto Ferreri. Annual Christmas Carols with the Moniuszko Choir.

Virtuosi d’Italia

A collaborative project between the Italian town of Empoli and its Orchestra Contrapunto. We are inviting members from the Italian Orchestra in a collaborative project with our core Virtuosi members in a performance of the best of Italian concertos. Final repertoire will be confirmed very soon.
